The frames are laminated, with approx. 9 laminates, on approximately 10-12 Inch center, massively and strongly constructed, a formidable machine in and of itself. The planking seams are filled with Oakum, and cotton and sealed with Portland Cement. Any nicked or gouges from her years of service are faired with Portland cement as well.
