Deck and hull

The vessel is built with Carvel Plank construction method with planking of Pitch Pine. The frames are laminated, with approx. 9 laminates, on approximately 10-12 Inch center, massively and strongly constructed, a formidable machine in and of itself. The planking seams are filled with Oakum, and cotton and sealed with Portland Cement. Any nicked or gouges from her years of service are faired with Portland cement as well. Her keel and keelson are of 8" x 9" (Fir) timbers and she has a sectioned wormshoe.
Solid timber floors where observed, steel reinforcements.
The decks are planked and covered with a elastomeric waterproof material (Rhino-Liner)
